Jordan Rosenfeld: Rude, Bold, and Brazen
Readers love characters/narrators who have strong opinions about themselves, others, or the world. In real life you may shy away from being bold, strongly opinionated, or even rude, but in fiction, these attributes create strong characters who leap from the page and create authenticity and reader connection. A strong attitude is also key to capturing agents’ and editors’ eyes. This workshop will help you tap into the unique attitudes and judgments of your characters and shape a strong voice and powerful character agency.
Jordan Rosenfeld is the author of eleven books, most recently WRITING THROUGH THE PAUSE: MINING MIDLIFE FOR POWERFUL WRITING, THE SOUND OF STORY: DEVELOPING VOICE AND TONE, and the novel FALLOUT. She has been published in The Atlantic, The Rumpus, Scientific American, and many other journals. You can learn more about her writing, developmental editing, and coaching at jordanrosenfeld.net.
Join us on Thursday, October 22nd, 5:30-7:00pm PT, to explore how being rude, bold, and brazen can build strong characters and narrators. You can register here to save your seat.
If you missed last month’s free workshop on Goal-Setting and Goal-Getting for Authors with Debra Eckerling, you can watch the recording here.
Enjoy, and happy writing!
